Users can access the system to view a full listing of all current items, filtering listings to meet their own requirements. They can manage any of their own items by using a number of listings and other options that are available.
The details relating to an item are added in a managed, or structured format, by means of a front end web form, which then submits the information directly to a database. Items have expiry dates to ensure they don’t become irrelevant.
Any items added will be displayed for a pre-determined period of time, after which they will automatically expire. Once an item has expired, it will no longer be visible on the main listings page, but will still be visible to the user who submitted it, when using the 'My Classifieds' listing. If required, the item can be then be either edited, relisted or deleted. If no action is taken, the system will automatically archive the item in the system, and it will therefore no longer be visible to users.
A number of web controls are used in this module. These are:
- Classifieds add/edit form
- Classifieds expired listing
- Classifieds complete
- Classifieds listing
- Classifieds listing for user
- Classifieds record page
- Classifieds Ssearch
The controls can use a default theme or can be styled to perfectly match your site.
You don't need any technical skills and editors will find it easy to add items.
We aim to keep our editing environments consistent; if you have created an event before, you will find it easy to create a classifieds listing.
Because it uses the Contensis WYSIWYG editor, we are guiding users down the path of creating accessible content without them even realising it.
Type and category values can be changed by system administrators to meet the individual requirements of the organisation. This is achieved through the taxonomy manager.
When an article expires, it will still be visible in the user’s own listing for a set period of time, the duration of which is pre-determined, before it is finally archived within Contensis.
News is an integrated content type within Contensis. This ensures that all of the same rules apply to this as to any other type of content.
