The Batch Import Wizard makes it effortless to import huge volumes of data

Importing data into your CMS is a very serious topic. If this isn't straightforward then you may waste hours of time on such tasks. The main problem is that this type of task is often forgotten when evaluating a CMS.

We have much more information on importing data in general under data import-export.

The Batch Import functionality in Contensis allows a standard user to import huge volumes of data with very little effort. The Wizard will take you through a set of screens that guide you through the process, but essentially, at any point, you are only 2 to 3 clicks away from an import.

In order to do a Batch Import you simply need to choose a zip file that you have pre-created and a destination for the import.

The zip file can contain any type of content and folders and, once the import is run, the exact folder structure will be created that came out of the zip file.

The import wizard also allows you to assign permissions for the newly imported content, presuming you have the permissions to do this.

There are no real limits on the size of the import, although we tested to a maximum zip file size of 1.5GB with 10,000 files.
