The Complete web controls are used primarily in modules. They are basically a grouping of the other control types listed below and are also themed so they can simply be inserted into your webpage and instantly generate a fully functioning news archive or events calendar.

Standard Listing Controls

The Standard Listing controls are all based on the same HTML mark-up - meaning you can style one or style all easily. Standard listings basically provide a data repeater of items that are displayed in a similar format. These usually consist of an item title, thumbnail or icon, description and date posted. Other information may display depending on the listings dataset, but it will always be in the expected layout. Pagers, A-Z bars, integration with the lightbox, data shuffling and other options can be set if required.

Mini Listings Controls

The Mini Listing controls are similar in concept to a Standard List control. They render a bullet list - unordered or ordered - with cut-down information such as a title, link, date posted. They normally have more simplified functionality when compared to the standard list, but are quicker to implement and enable data filtering and date formatting.

Combo Controls

The Combo controls combine the Standard List control and Mini-list control into one list of items in a single continuous order. For example, this means you could generate a list of the latest news with the most recent item (or even 2 or 3 items) being more prominent than the others news items.

Search Controls

You can provide an enterprise search, advanced or simple website search with the extended search control. There are also search controls available for every structured content type - each of these can be configured with advanced features based around the data available.

Syndication Links Control 

The Syndication Links control provides links provide a URL to the RSS or Atom feed version of the data listing currently used on the webpage.

Ticker Control 

The ticker control is a simple rotating animation of the data. For example, it could animate through the top 5 latest news articles displaying the titles and a link.

Record Display Control

The Record control is the hub of the data, and will usually display the full description or story and all other related information. The information for a record can be input using the Structured Content Forms within the Contensis CMS, or alternatively, using content import options. Each module, such as News, has it's own Structured Content Form which is essentially used to create a page in the CMS which contains the News Record Display control.
