Choosing Contensis is no drama

Stratford Upon Avon - Oct 10, 2008

We are pleased to announce that Stratford upon Avon College has chosen Contensis as its partner to provide web development services based on the Contensis R5 platform.

Stratford upon Avon College has successfully built on its many inherent advantages to become the leading further education provider in South Warwickshire. The town’s globally-recognised brand attracts many students to enrol from overseas and also increases its UK catchment area. It offers a wide range of courses including an increasing HE element whilst retaining its attractively human-scale on a single campus. The college was the first to receive a Training Quality Standard award and has gained accreditation as an Investor in People. It also boasts the best results in the region.

Over the coming months the two organisations will cooperate on the delivery of a range of web-based assets designed to further enhance the fundamental operating effectiveness of the college. The first will be a new public website featuring significant levels of integration with existing systems. Vamsi Bodepudi, Director of Computer Services, identifying a single web platform as an important stage in the college’s current and future development, said “Our aim is to provide all the stakeholders of the College an easy access to the college information over the web – a single integrated online portal for the college. We were looking at system which could seamlessly integrate into our existing systems and provide a holistic approach to the information flow across the college. After careful consideration and looking at the best available technologies, Contensis came up as a clear winner because of the flexibility it offers in managing the content. We look forward to working with Contensis in achieving our college information strategy. ” Contensis Sales Executive for the FE sector, Adam Green, commented “We are particularly pleased to be working with a college that’s already a high-achiever, but clearly has further potential and a positive plan to achieve it”.

If Shakespeare had been lucky enough to go to his local FE college, he would have had plenty to write about.

About the company

The Contensis Enterprise Content Management suite of products began life, as many products do, following an animated discussion between a group of software professionals back in the autumn of 1998.

They all agreed, after exhaustive evaluation, that most of the products then available fell far short of their own vision and an idea began to gel. By spring 1999 work was well advanced on the specification of a system which not only met their criteria, and that of respected industry analysts, but equally important also reflected the views of end user enterprises. Power, ease of use and cost effectiveness were the key words. The beginnings of the Contensis development team were spawned a little later and work started in earnest to turn the dream into reality.

Philosophy

Our approach is completely customer-centric. Customers are our universe and we see their problems as our problems.

From a software perspective this means that we strive to ensure that every aspect of Contensis is simple to learn and easy to use. We believe we've achieved that, certainly at everyday user level. Even newcomers to the system are normally editing and contributing within minutes.

It's all part of our 'How can we make it simpler' approach.
